These terms govern your use of Codex Bible (the “app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them.
The app
Codex Bible is a Bible reading app with multiple translations, full-text search, themes, a daily verse, and pre-generated AI verse explanations. The text is provided by third-party publishers under license; the explanations are reflective summaries written by an AI assistant ahead of release. The explanations are not a substitute for theological study, pastoral counsel, or any publisher’s authoritative commentary.

Codex Bible is completely free. All translations, themes, and verse explanations are available to everyone.

You may read, search, and bookmark verses inside the app for personal use. Sharing or republishing Scripture remains subject to the applicable translation publisher’s permissions and quotation limits. The share feature does not grant additional rights to the text.
Offline reading and updates
The app periodically refreshes licensed Bible text. Downloaded text is available offline for up to 30 days after it was retrieved from the publisher’s service. An internet connection is required to refresh an expired copy. Your reading position, bookmarks, and preferences remain on your device.
Acceptable use
Use the app for personal, non-commercial reading and reflection. Do not bulk-extract or redistribute licensed content without the permission required by its publisher.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties and limit our liability for any claim arising from your use of the app to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
