All translations, themes, and verse explanations are free. There is no limit on how many explanations you can read.

Why does Scripture need an update?

Codex refreshes licensed Bible text in the background when connected. Saved text works offline for up to 30 days after retrieval. If you see “Connect to update,” connect to the internet and tap “Try again.” Your reading position, bookmarks, and preferences are kept.

Are the AI explanations live?

No. Verse explanations and daily takeaways were generated once, before release, and bundled into the app as static content. Your device does not call any AI service while you read.
